Thank you for visiting my website! I am a researcher by profession but a travel addict by choice. For the past 8 years, I have been globetrotting across the most amazing destinations in this beautiful planet we call home. After traveling 56 countries across 5 continents, I am here to fuel your wanderlust by sharing my adventures and my love and passion for travel and photography.

GROWING UP…

Ever since I could remember, I have wanted to explore new places. However, being born in a middle-class family in India, I was taught to put education & career as my primary focus in my teenage years. Further, thanks to my accident prone nature,  my parents rarely gave me the permission to travel and explore on my own. As a dutiful kid, I followed their wish until I finally got my chance to break free and fly to USA for my graduate studies. Living in USA gave me the opportunity to explore to my heart’s content! During my 6 years in the USA, I not only fully explored my backyard and traveled to 43 states but also several destinations in Europe & North America.

MY TRAVEL JOURNEY…

My story will be incomplete without mentioning my bestest travel buddy and life partner, Deep! Ever since we started dating, it has always been a long-distance relationship. While it was not an easy phase, we enjoyed every moment of it. Every little chance we got, we flew distances to meet each other. In the beginning it was different cities in India and after I moved to USA, those frequent trips became across continents! Over twelve years of long-distance relationship, Deep fell in love with traveling and became addicted just like me (Ok.. a little less than me!). Every time we met in a new country or city, we made sure to book at least two future vacations and that made the goodbyes a little less painful. Together we have now travelled to 56 countries and there is no end in sight…….. 😊 ♥️

MOVED FROM USA TO SINGAPORE & BACK TO NEW YORK

After completing my PhD in USA, I moved to Singapore in 2018 and finally joined my hubby! I took a gap year and visited 25 countries in Europe and Asia that further fueled my obsession of travel and meet new people and learn about new cultures! Traveling solo for a month in Europe that year, is still one of the most epic travel experiences of my life! Lakes or oceans surrounded by mountains are my ultimate happy place. The more I traveled, the more I craved to capture the beauty of this planet better. So, over the years, I learnt the skills of photography and editing to give expression to my love & passion and that’s how my Instagram account “GlobetrottingSu” was born. In July, 2021, we moved back to the States and thrilled to call NYC our home.

With all the wealth of my travel adventures and experiences, my dream is to inspire people from all over the world to take the scenic route in life. To enjoy the beauty in getting lost and to find happiness in being themselves. Through this blog I hope to share all my travel and photography tips, hacks and insights from the 55 countries I have explored so far.
