Last year during the heightened state of pandemic, we were unable to escape Singapore for celebrating our wedding anniversary. So, we chose this luxurious hotel for an unforgettable romantic staycation in Singapore. After staying three days, Ritz Carlton Millenia has officially earned the tag of my most favorite hotel in Singapore! Even Travel and Leisure has bestowed a huge accolade on Ritz declaring it to be one of the best hotels in Singapore.

I can’t emphasize how amazing is the view of Singapore skyline from every corner of this hotel! One can see the impressive views while dining, lounging around, from the room and even while bathing! Wherever you look around, the glittering and mesmerizing panoramic views of the Marina Bay with all the iconic landmarks make you feel like living inside a dreamy fantasy!
If you are a lover of art, the hotel’s interior will keep you captivated with all its stunning art decor. Ritz Carlton Millenia houses an impressive 4,200-piece art collection. These are the works from Dale Chihuly, Andy Warhol, Frank Stella and other icons.
2. The Grand Entrance
The moment you step in the hotel, the amazing artwork by Frank Stella called “Cornucopia” greets you! The soaring dome ceiling with transparent glass walls that extends from the main lobby all the way out to the main driveway is bound to make an grand impression. The high ceilings and extravagant artwork makes it feel as though you’ve entered a grand museum. Right from the entrance you will get the feeling of WOW and it will stay that way throughout your stay and even beyond.
During the Christmas time, the hotel lobby and the first floor is very beautifully decorated. You will feel all the festive spirits right from the moment you step inside this grand hotel.
3. Room with a View
Designed by award-winning architect, the 32-storey property has a total of 608 guest rooms, including 18 one-bedroom Millenia Suites, three two-bedroom Millenia Suites and one Ritz Suite. The best part about staying at the Ritz is that all the guest rooms and bathrooms offer breathtaking views of either Marina Bay or the Singapore Sports Hub and Kallang River precinct! So every room of this hotel offers jaw-dropping views during your stay!
With rooms ranging from 550 – 2358 square feet, Ritz Carlton Millenia is amongst the very few hotels that offer such spacious rooms. During my stay, I had the opportunity to stay in the Premiere Suite as well as was upgraded to one-bedroom Millenia Suite! Both the rooms had such fantastic views that it is hard to choose which was one was my favorite. Be assured, whichever room you end up staying, your views will nothing short of magnificent!
4. Bathtub by the Bay
Since I am a lover of bathtub views, this factor alone was instrumental in falling head over heels for this hotel! Ritz Carlton Millenia is famous for its legendary octagonal-shaped windows that offer the most spectacular views of the Marina Bay while soaking in the comforts of the bathtub. The bath salt, loofah, amazing bathing products and even a bathtub pillow is thoughtfully added to give that extra relaxation & pamper. It’s basically a private spa.
If you want to elevate this experience further, have the butler-drawn bath right before the sunset and enjoy the spectacular sunset while soaking in with a glass of champagne in hand! It’s the highest level of pampering one can experience.
5. Thoughtful Touches
One key element that makes a hotel standout from the rest is its friendly staff and heart-warming hospitality. Ritz Carlton Millenia will win your love and admiration with their small thoughtful touches that go a long way to leave a lasting impression.
Small details like envelopes to keep your mask before mealtimes are placed at each table. All the staff will make sure to remember your name and pay attention to your seating & drinks preference. The housekeeping team is almost ninja-like; we barely noticed when the room was transformed with the turn-down service, where chocolates and bath slippers were thoughtfully laid out by the bed.
During our staycation, we were celebrating our anniversary! The amazing staff gave us a wonderful welcome with several treats, cake, even a hand written card along with butler-drawn complimentary bath to make this staycation extremely memorable. Other highlights included complimentary garment pressing, personalised check-in and check-out service, and the provision of an extra pair of masks and hand sanitisers in room.
6. The Club Lounge Access
The Club Premier Suite, Club Deluxe Suite and Millenia Suites offer access to The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge. Located on the 32nd floor, this is a place to chill, relax (or work) while having the unlimited access to champagne & food and enjoying the iconic Singapore skyline.
Normally, a buffet of food options are available for breakfast, mid-day snacks, afternoon tea, hors-d’oeuvres and cocktails with unlimited champagne and delicious treats served up from morning until night! During the pandemic state, one can just scan the QR code based menu on the table to make the choices and all the delicacies will be served right at your table.
I would highly recommend to book a Club room or adding the club-level access during your stay to enjoy the sophisticated and unparalleled pamper. The exclusive access to the Club Lounge where you can dine and wine all day long, easily has the best view of Singapore skyline.
For those with an artistic streak, there’s a corner which acts as The Drawing Room. Guests can choose to spend some time sketching the Marina Bay area through the easel, paper and pencils that are provided.
Last but not the least, guests with club access can be driven around in the complimentary limousine ride! Available on a first-come, first-serve basis, you can get a ride anywhere within the Marina Bay area! Club Lounge access is definitely worth the splurge!
7. An array of Food Options
If you want a change and don’t feeling like having all the meals in the Club Lounge, Ritz Carlton Millenia also offers sensory feast through some of the best restaurants in town. Singapore is known for its multinational cuisines and one can experience it easily at their on-property restaurants.
The Michelin-starred Summer Pavilion offers authentic Cantonese cuisine with a modern touch in a sophisticated setting. My personal favorite is dining at the Colony where one is spoilt for choice with innumerable options! The Colony serves every meal of the day, including afternoon tea from Monday to Saturday and a Champagne brunch on Sundays. It is a luxury buffet at a reasonable price perfect for celebrating some special occasions.
They have seven stations including an ice bar with salads, sushi, cold cuts, and cheese; a grill and rotisserie with a range of Western and Asian grilled meats and a steam basket with Asian noodles, soups and steamed dishes. They also have a wok with local specialities; a tandoor with Indian meats, seafood and bread; a fruit stall with fresh juices and fruits and a patisserie with all kinds of desserts. Throughout my time at the restaurant, I felt like I was on a culinary journey that took me through various cooking techniques and global cuisines. You are bound to enjoy this dining experience & end up with food coma after a meal at Colony!
8. Award-winning Spa
If you are in the mood to get pampered, Ritz Carlton Spa offers one of the first ever La Mer hotel Spas in Asia Pacific. It is focused solely on wellness and beauty. They have ten treatment rooms to treat yourself with either 60 min or 90 min from a wide range of relaxing and rejuvenating massages; along with facial and other spa favorites like full nail and salon services. Although I did not get a chance to treat myself here, I am sure to be back for one of their signature pampers very soon.

The hotel provides a well-equipped gymnasium fitted with wide-ranging equipments, from yoga mats to boxing gear perfect for all fitness freaks. There’s a huge 25 meter swimming pool that’s shielded from the public eye and perfect for sun-bathers or swimmers! This swimming pool especially looks amazing at night and provides a great perspective to get that instagram worthy shot.

Apart from all the amazing reasons which makes Ritz Carlton Millenia the best hotel to stay in Singapore, it’s location is an added advantage to all the explorers who wish to have more of Singapore during their vacation. Marina Bay is the most central place to stay in Singapore with easy access to all the famous landmarks. All the tourist attractions like Gardens by the Bay, Art Science museum, Merlion Park, The Shopees at Marina Bay Sands, Esplanade Theater etc are just a stone’s throw away.

IN MY OPINION
The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore has a reputation of being one of the best hotels in Singapore. Our staycation has left little doubt in my mind that this reputation is justified and well-earned. To have the best experience, I would highly recommend to have a 2 nights stay. I can’t recommend the Club Level experience enough; it was luxury taken to the next level.
Additionally, the prime location of the hotel makes it very lucrative for sightseeing. The stunning views all around the hotel will make it difficult to leave the hotel! Definitely try a meal at The Colony as it is one of the best buffets I have ever had in my life. Definitely Ritz Carlton Millenia will make your stay truly memorable.
